SEK-Alborán students participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation training days

The 7th Cardiomaratón was held on 16 October, an event for over 4,400 Almeria students where student from year 4 Secondary at SEK-Alborán took part to expand their extracurricular training. The conference took place within the framework of the Cardiac Arrest European Awareness Day which has been observed since 2013.

Most cardiorespiratory arrests (CRA) occur at home (up to 75% of them) and in public spaces (up to 16%), and a witness can see them in up to 60% of cases, which is why it is essential to establish a strategy of training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (basic CPR) manoeuvres to improve the survival rate of patients who have suffered an arrest by training non-healthcare professionals in the initial management of these situations.

This initiative aims to respond to the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) campaign that, under the motto ‘All citizens of the world can save lives’, was held at the Palace of the Mediterranean Games and was organised by the Territorial Delegation for Education and Sports of Almería.
