SEK-Alboran is a member of the IB® World Schools International Community. The International Baccalaureate® programmes are offered from 3 up to 18 years of age, integrated with the national curriculum.

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) programmes correspond to the following educational stages:

Primary Years Programme – Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Middle Years Programme – Middle Years Programme (MYP)

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Primary Years Programme is a programme that can be integrated into the national curriculum:

  • Provides a high quality international education and prepares students to adopt a lifelong attitude to learning that will make them active in the world around them showing respect for themselves and for others.
  • Learning takes place through experiences that encourage students to be curious, to explore, research and interact physically, socially and intellectually with their environment.

Secondary Education

 From 12 to 16 years of age

The IB® Middle Years Programme is delivered:

 Morning Class

We concentrate on developing the IB® student personality profile through:

  • Carrying out open-ended tasks and projects designed to promote analysis of sources, collaborative working, critical thinking and the student’s communicative skills
  • A bilingual environment in which an international mindset is encouraged
  • Encouragement of personal development through differentiation.
  • Helped by technological media

The MYP concludes with the completion of the Personal Project, a piece of research work based on personal interests that demonstrates the skills developed by the students. Students obtain the IB® Middle Years Programme Certificate

Baccalaureate – Diploma Programme

 From 16 to 18 years of age

 Objective: to facilitate integration into the world of work and/or entry into higher education.

 Bilingual Diploma Programme

 Morning Class

The student can opt for:

  • The Spanish Baccalaureate in various forms
  • The IB® Diploma Programme promotes critical thinking, empathy, inter-cultural understanding. This programme is evaluated using international education professionals.
